7.30pm Well, I for one welcome my new overlords, the Eighty-One. Sam Billings marshalls his pace and spin options magnificently to put the defending champions on course for a statement win. Amir and Mahmood were magnificent at the top, Jacks, Sowter and Zampa did the needful through the middle. Rishi Patel offered some grit, Benny Howell some substance. But it was a bit meh.

Mahmood: "Nice to get a pole early and work into a spell. Don't want to try too much, set attacking fields, they made mistakes, paid off for us. Nice to be this side of the rope and not commentating. Strong shots, not scoreboard pressure ... yeah..."
