8.23pm: Rockets post 172, which looks like a very competitive score against a team who are yet to break the 140 barrier this season. Malan and Hales set the platform with an excellent opening stand and despite regular wickets in the second half of the innings, Daniel Sams' partnership with Colin Munro ensured they retained some impetus throughout. Remember, Rockets only need a win to be guaranteed a place in the Eliminator, but will hope for a NRR boost too which would give them a great chance of finishing top unless London Spirit can pull a big win out of the bag tomorrow. Alan will be back with the chase in a bit.
Alex Hales is speaking to Sky. "It wasn't my prettiest. The pitch is a little bit on the slow side. Malan has been unbelievable, a real joy to bat with. I think it's a really good score as long as we bowl well. It's the third time we've used this pitch. We have to be unpredictable and hit the pitch with our change-ups. Hopefully we can defend this score and be playing in the finals."
Kath: "Tremendous final set from Ball keeps Fire in the hunt just about"
James: "To be fair to Miller (ball 95) the spin took the ball right then left." -- Yep, a double-breaker. Tough one!
Great finish by Ball here. Gregory walks out for the last couple of balls.
