7.10pm So, what on earth to make of that then? Clearly a tough pitch to get stuck in on... but that's exactly when Jason Roy did, he stuck around to put a total on the board.

"127... we'll be happy with that," says Adil Rashid. "Different format, different players, it's good for everybody. A bit of turn, we weren't expecting that at Headingley, but as a unit we bowled well. But credit to J-Roy and Tom Curran. We'll be confident."

Phil J: "Roy goes super-slow for ages then goes into overdrive without warning at the end. I had a old car like that once. Was fine until it hit the tree."

Craig: "Think Sunil Narine will enjoy bowling his 20 balls tonight!"

Dezz : "I know i keep saying it, but it's because of the double headers and always playing on a used wicket. Generally the wickets have always played much better for the 1st game."

Donnylad: "No - been playing and watching cricket since I was 8 years old. This competition is T20 with bells and whistles and fireworks - the basics remain. I challenged the notion that only lots of big hits is what makes exciting cricket." I don't dispute that. But I do dispute that these pitches are creating the spectacle that the ECB expected when ripping everything up to start again. Anyway, we are the established fans, so our views don't count do they! Let's see what the new audience make of this spectacle in the next round of market research ...

Willey to Roy, FOUR, Roy finishes with a flourish! A stride to the full length, pummelled through the line, beats the sweeper at deep cover, and he finishes with a hard-ground half-century!

Willey to Roy, SIX, length outside off, and Roy launches it over wide long-on! Poor bowling! Slotted!
