4pm: More than handy, that. Pakistan are billed as a "bowling" T20 side, but their batting has fired on this occasion, Babar Azam and Mohammad Hafeez finding their range to lift them up towards 200 - quite a way beyond the average first-innings score here. England are a "batting" T20 side (as you could probably tell from their efforts with the ball) but this is still a tall chase - particularly when they are without the likes of Jason Roy and Jos Buttler. But it should be tub-thumping fun to watch, regardless, as England look to go big or go home back to their rooms at the ground. Matt will be here to start off the chase in 10

19.6
1
Curran to Iftikhar Ahmed, 1 run, back-of-the-hand slowie, wide of the stumps and Iftikhar can only swipe it to backward point for one to finish

Shadab Khan comes out but Ifti is on strike

England have only chased a total this big twice in T20Is, by the way, both against South Africa: the first in the 2016 WT20, the other in their series there earlier this year

19.5
W
Curran to Mohammad Hafeez, OUT, plinked to cover, Morgan takes a simple catch and Hafeez is done for! Maybe a slower ball from Curran, got right underneath it and barely travelled beyond the edge of the ring... but still been a cracking knock from Le Prof

Mohammad Hafeez c Morgan b Curran 69 (63m 36b 5x4 4x6) SR: 191.66

19.4
2
Curran to Mohammad Hafeez, 2 runs, another low full toss, swivelled away through backward square leg, Gregory does well to prevent it going for four

"Why Moeen Ali didn't bowl??" Just a token over at the start, Lauv. Odd decision on this pitch

19.3
1
Curran to Iftikhar Ahmed, 1 run, 86mph/138kph full toss, swung away leg side, not a great connection and they only get one to deep backward square
19.2
2
Curran to Iftikhar Ahmed, 2 runs, pitched up, 81mph/130kph and Iftikhar heaves wide of long-on for a couple
19.1
1
Curran to Mohammad Hafeez, 1 run, full toss, can't get under it as Hafeez swings one to deep midwicket

Final over, can Pakistan get themselves above the 200-mark? Tom Curran to bowl

Philip M McCart's waters are tingling: "I have a feeling ... I HAVE A FEELING ... that YJB is going to hit the century of a lifetime today ... I feel it, do you feel it? DO YOU FEEL IT?!?"

END OF OVER:

  • Iftikhar Ahmed4 (6b)
  • Chris Jordan4-0-41-1

Hamza Sahi is liking this effort from Pakistan: "This team has a phenomenonal combination, only thing they should give a try to is playing Khushdil Shah in place of Malik."

1
Jordan to Mohammad Hafeez, 1 run, dropped! Full, 88mph and in the slot, driven uppishly and Morgan cant cling on this time! Made a good effort, one-handed going to his left, Hafeez sliced it high and just got away with it
18.5
2
Jordan to Mohammad Hafeez, 2 runs, full and whipped leg side, in front of Billings at deep midwicket and they'll come back for two
18.4
1
Jordan to Iftikhar Ahmed, 1 run, another 88mph/141kph yorker on leg, Iftikhar can't do much and it trickles into the leg side for one

"Both decisions not out ....pretty much sums England's day," chuckles Asim of that final Mahmood delivery

18.3
1
Jordan to Mohammad Hafeez, 1 run, full bunger on middle and leg, 88mph/141kph and he can only bunt one down to long-on
18.2
0
Jordan to Mohammad Hafeez, no run, fires in the yorker, Jordan fields in his follow through and then has a shy with Hafeez advancing out of his ground, he has to throw himself for the crease
18.1
6
Jordan to Mohammad Hafeez, SIX, offcutter, on a length outside off, whumped over cow corner! Hafeez ab-so-lutely bazookas this into the stands, feet planted and swiped imperiously over the leg side for six more!

Penultimate over, Jordan to bowl

2lb
Mahmood to Iftikhar Ahmed, 2 leg byes, speared in full, Mahmood goes up for lbw, nearly rolls on to the stumps anyway... then Bairstow throws down the non-striker's end! Was Iftikhar ball-watching? He had to get his skates on after Hafeez called him through, they then stole another as the ball ran away. In fact, England reviewed for lbw, which was a terrible call, as it pretty much hit him outside leg stump; and Iftikhar was just in at the other end, too! So a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing two leg byes

This is now Pakistan's highest T20I score against England, by the way

17.5
0
Mahmood to Iftikhar Ahmed, no run, pitched up, not quite yorker length and Iftikhar heaves across the line, deflects it back to the bowler... they are going to check whether the ball came straight off his boot, before Mahmood caught it. But no, definitely went into the ground

"Outside of the spinners, this England attack needs a lot of work," chunters Andy. "Inaccurate, no lateral movement and a bit brainless at times"

17.4
1
Mahmood to Mohammad Hafeez, 1 run, fuller, outside off and he mistimes this, dragged into the leg side
17.3
4
Mahmood to Mohammad Hafeez, FOUR, belted down the ground! Length outside off and Hafeez makes room to slap it over mid-off, picks up another boundary
17.2
4
Mahmood to Mohammad Hafeez, FOUR, scooped over short fine leg! Coolly done, just a half step and flicks the full toss, deep backward square leg won't get around - fifty for Hafeez, who won't be put in the corner, no sir
17.1
1
Mahmood to Iftikhar Ahmed, 1 run, length outside off, it's another cutter and Iftikhar slices it down to third man swinging hard

Saqib Mahmood to finish his allocation

"Did England misread the pitch? Babar Azam also said they wanted to bowl first." As things stand, Saad, I'd just say they've bowled badly, more than anything

END OF OVER:

16.4
1
Jordan to Iftikhar Ahmed, 1 run, pitched up and dinked down the ground to long-on

Iftikhar Ahmed walks out at No. 5

16.3
W
Jordan to Shoaib Malik, OUT, blasts it straight to extra cover! Jordan misses the yorker but gets the wicket... Malik was looking to do as he did first ball of the over and chip down the ground, but managed to slice this slightly, Morgan leaping to take a good catch high to his right

Shoaib Malik c Morgan b Jordan 14 (23m 11b 1x4 0x6) SR: 127.27

16.2
2
Jordan to Shoaib Malik, 2 runs, low full toss, Malik is across and whips a couple towards deep midwicket, that's the 50 stand up, from just 26 balls

"Wow, Hafeez is playing a blinder, timing the ball exquisitely," yips Naveed

16.2
1w
Jordan to Shoaib Malik, 1 wide, short, tennis-ball bounce, high and leg side - one more to the extra column
16.1
4
Jordan to Shoaib Malik, FOUR, slotted down the ground! Full outside off and it's basically a half-volley, Malik steps out and lofts it over mid-off and away

Wheels threatening to come off for England. Four overs to go, 200 a real possibility... Chris Jordan returns
