END OF OVER:
93 | (wicket maiden) | PAK: 273/10

  • Azhar Ali141 (272b)
  • James Anderson23-3-56-5
  • Jofra Archer17-3-58-0

7.04pm: Bad light stops play, and that will be stumps, because we are already into the added time. So Jimmy will have to put his feet up two short of 600, and Azhar can go and have a well-earned rest, too, after an immaculate, unbeaten 141 helped keep England at bay for most of the day. The forecast, as we've discussed, isn't great for Monday and Tuesday, and that remains Pakistan's likeliest escape route. The officials, by the way, have again decided that play will begin at 11am as normal - rather than start half an hour early - since the outlook is better later in the day. Probably worth a shruggie ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway, thanks from myself and Saurabh, we'll be back for more in the morning. Hopefully when James Anderson draws those curtains wide, he'll be greeted by bright sunshine and the opportunity to seize the day. Cheerio!

7pm: Azhar Ali is going to move up to open, he's standing alongside Shan Masood by the boundary. Play can officially go on until 7.30pm, so probably time for 5-6 overs, if the light holds... and Michael Gough is taking a reading out in the middle as I type. There's a discussion with Root, as England make their way out; sounds very much like they are going to put a stop to proceedings here

England have enforced the follow-on, so Pakistan will be heading back out again to face Anderson (maybe only for a short spell) and the rest under lights. Will Azhar choose to keep his pads on? We'll find out shortly. Back for the Pakistan second innings in 10

Here's Dean: "Jimmy's 29th five-for. The only pace bowler to have taken more is Richard Hadlee with 36."

"In these kind of scenarios, I would say send Azhar to open with Shaan/Abid," declares Saad khan. "He sees the ball and well settled."

Life-in-the-old-dog stat, from Hypocaust: "James Anderson is the oldest pace bowler to take 5-fer in a men's Test since Courtney Walsh v SA at Port of Spain in 2001, and the oldest to do so in England since Richard Hadlee at Edgbaston in 1990."

Anderson to Naseem Shah, OUT, edged to slip, SIBLEY HOLDS THIS ONE! Fenced off the back foot, thick edge and it flies low to third slip, this time it's taken, Test wicket No598 for Anderson, and his 29th five-wicket haul!
