11:33am Not quite the sort of morning session Pakistan would have had in mind. Rizwan fell relatively early, and Pakistan lost three wickets without adding to their total (for the second time in the innings). Salman, though, hung around, but unfortunately for Pakistan, the other lower-order batters did not, meaning he eventually perished trying to get to his hundred and in trying to take Pakistan past 400. Prior to that, his partnership with Rizwan rescued Pakistan from a slight spot of bother, with Imam's 93 and Masood's 76 being the tone-setting hands earlier in the innings.
South Africa were not very consistent yesterday, but will be pleased with their toil today. Muthusamy bagged six, and played a major role in the two mini-collapses Pakistan had. Harmer bowled well but without luck, with Subrayen also recovering decently after a tough opening session yesterday. Rabada was not shabby either. 378 might feel less, considering where Pakistan were at the start of play, but on a surface that is spinning and bouncing, it could be a very handy total. Join us in about ten minutes for South Africa's reply.

Good to go again
Looks like Verreynne copped a blow on the right thumb. Might have gone past the webbing and hit him flush on the tip, and that will not tickle
Right. How does Salman play it now? His trust in Shaheen was not unwarranted, but the pacer did not quite pay him back well. Will he trust Hasan now, or will Salman try and sneak in as many runs as possible?

Waleed Khan: "Can't understand what's stopping Salman from going all-out attack?" -- He has reason to trust Shaheen and to ensure things keep ticking along for now, rather than risk getting out going for quick runs.
