5.15pm An enthralling five days of cricket, with runs and action galore, comes to an end with a famous Indian victory. Vish's report is in, in case you want a recap of how Day 5 at Edgbaston played out. It's 1-1 between England and India, and now these two teams will head to Lord's, where one hopes bowlers have a bit more in it for them, especially with Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer set to return for their respective sides, making it a spicier contest starting three days from now. Both teams will want a rest after this arduous game (I know I certainly do!), and until the next game there will be plenty of reading to do, courtesy Sid Monga, Matt Roller and Vish. On behalf of Alan, Sudeep, Thilak and everyone else at ESPNcricinfo, it's Abhimanyu signing off from Edgbaston.
5.10pm Time for the presentation.
Shubman Gill, the India captain and the player of the match: "All the things we spoke about after the last game, we were spot on with all of those things. I think the way we came back with our bowling and fielding was tremendous to see. On this kind of wicket we knew that if we got 400-500 runs, it would be enough. Not every game will be like Headingley. [The bowlers] They were magnificent. The way we were able to get through their top order, they bowled brilliantly. Even Prasidh, he didn't get as many wickets but he bowled brilliantly. [On Akash Deep] He hit the right lengths and was getting the ball to move both ways, which was difficult on a pitch like this. He was magnificent for us. I am definitely feeling comfortable with my game and if we are able to win the series with my contributions, it'll be great. As I said before, I want to play as a batsman, and go out as a batsman and make decisions as a batsman. Sometimes you won't take some risks when you're thinking as a captain which you have to do as a batsman. [Bumrah back in Lord's?] Definitely. [On looking forward to Lord's] No bigger honour than to captain your country in a Test match at Lord's."
Ben Stokes: "Two moments. Having them at 200 for 5, we were really happy there and not being able to burst them open there and being 80 for 5, it's tough to be able to scrape it back from there. [On the decision to bowl] It's a tough one. As I said, when you have them on 200 for 5 you'd be happy, but as the game got deeper and deeper, it suited India more than us. [On India's seamers doing more] I won't say it's necessarily a concern. We tried everything, changed plans, did what we could. But when a team is on top of you, it's tough to wrestle momentum back. And the opposition is world class, Shubman had a fantastic game. Tough one. It is always a difficult position to be batting at the end of the day after a long day. Tired bodies, tired minds. But it's a situation we'll face again and need to get used to. Jamie's been incredible since he's come into the team. He's been exceptional with the bat and goes massively under the radar as a wicketkeeper. He stuck to his guns and played his natural game and the way he and Harry were able to get momentum back, even though it wasn't enough, was great. Couple of days to think about it, but it's been a tough week so we'll see how we shape up at Lord's."
Rohit: "How can you forget Sundar contribution in that gabba win" -- That is my bad indeed! And he played a nice support role in this game.
Karthik: "Absolute domination, not time Eng were ahead in the game was then they picked KL early on day one." -- Yep, it's been India's game through and through!
5.15pm Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj and Rishabh Pant played key roles when India breached the Gabba in 2021. And now, they have helped script India's first ever win at Edgbaston, with more than a little help from Akash Deep, who claimed his maiden Test five-for with a fantastic display on a batter's paradise in the fourth innings. Gill, in just his second Test as captain, has recorded a statement win, with a statement performance with the bat. A double in his first innings, 161 in the second. Pant scored a crucial, momentum-shifting fifty. Jadeja scored two half-centuries. And Akash Deep and Siraj tirelessly bowled India to victory, Siraj with a six-for in the first innings, Akash Deep with ten wickets for the match. Even with rain wiping out more than an hour on the final day, they've cleaned up the seven wickets they needed today with more than a session to spare. They've exorcised their ghosts of Headingley with a mammoth win in Birmingham. And this crackerjack of a series is well and truly alive at 1-1.
Here is a stat from Namooh Shah: Akash Deep becomes only the 2nd Indian bowler to take a 10 Wicket-Haul in a Test in England, Chetan Sharma is the only other Indian when he took 10/188 also at Birmingham back in 1986.

Elsewhere, there's an Indian whose pace Bumrah couldn't match. He's the fastest Indian and he's going for more - meet sprinter Animesh Kujur who broke an invisible barrier with a new 100m national record.
Akash Deep sits down as the umpire tightens one of the spikes in his boot that had come loose.
Ali Khan: "The only question is will Australia cleanup the WI before India closing this out?" -- Oh my, I just checked the score there!
Arun: "Why aren't the catch reviews checked for LBW? what am I missing here?? " -- That one pitched very clearly outside leg
