12.28pm Almost a three hour first session which has belonged to Noman Ali who became the first Pakistan spinner to bag a Test hat-trick. But West Indies have done brilliantly to reach 163 courtesy of some stunning lower order defiance. Electing to bat, West Indies were in dire straits at 38 for 7 with Noman running them ragged. That turned into 54 for 8 and an early end to the innings was on the cards. But, the last two wickets added 109 runs between them to bail out West Indies. Gudakesh Motie notched up his maiden Test fifty and was well supported by Kemar Roach (25) and Jomel Warrican (36*). Pakistan missed reviewing an lbw decision off Motie when he was on 18. Will it come back to haunt them? Join Rashad in a bit to find out.

Abdul Samad: "41 overs in a single session!? At this rate we can have 200 overs a day. Must be tiring for bowlers especially Noman" The session was two and half hours long originally. Add to that with nine wickets down, the session was extended by half an hour. That meant 41.1 overs were bowled in the opening session

Noman Ali to Motie, OUT, Noman gets his sixth and Motie's resistance finally comes to an end. Flights this above Motie's eye line well outside off stump. Motie was looking for a big hit downtown, but the the ball pitches and spins sharply back into him sneaking between bat and pad to clatter into the stumps. That will be lunch on day one.
