R Ashwin: Always special to play in front of home crowd, it's a ground I completely love. Last time I got a hundred here, you [Ravi Shastri] were the coach. It does feel special. 5:02pm, day 1, stumps: A perfect day for the Chennai duo - one by birth and the other via CSK. Both the morning and afternoon sessions saw 88 runs and 3 wickets. But 163 runs without a wicket in the final session ensured India were not just out of trouble but also came out with an advantage. Ashwin was the one who changed the tempo, attacking every ball he saw fit, which was almost every other ball at one point. His back-foot punches were crisp, he got going with boundaries through point and cover but went straight and opened up the leg side as the innings progressed. Jadeja was solid at the other end.
