Saim Ayub isn't available and that's going to further exacerbate Pakistan's woes as they face a monumental challenge. They should take heart from the fact that there are no demons on this pitch and spending time in the middle will yield runs. But do they have the patience, temperament, resilience and mental and physical strength to bat for long periods and put up a massive response? South Africa will be mighty pleased with their batting effort. The 235-run stand between Bavuma and Rickelton was the highlight and plenty of other handy partnerships took them past 600. South Africa have the license to go for the kill and attack as much as they want. Expect a packed slip cordon and the frontline pacers to bowl with venom with the new cherry. Mohammad Abbas to Maphaka, OUT, Rattles the stumps with a scorcher! Probing line and length and the ball deviates just enough to breach his defence, he gets squared up and beaten by the late away movement, ball crashes onto the middle and off-stump and it was a lovely sight for Abbas who enjoyed the dismissal (his 100th scalp), ending with three wickets and that also brings end to South Africa's innings and a long-tiring five sessions for Pakistan in the field
