Nafees Ahmad Sh: "@pete @kiran ! I still remember the applause for chris martin , when he used to score his first run."

Jafran Mohamed: "Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V of First innings and take a single... A win For Srilanka..."

kieran: "Somerville with two not outs, (they couldn't get him out!), has his average turbo boosted to a healthy 32.5. Well played!"

Pete: "Amazing and tenacious lower order batting, BJ Watling take a bow, four solid partnerships, stuff of legends. "

Terence Jones: "@Kiran - I know what you mean, I miss the bunnies of the old days. Bumrah is probably the closest we have to a genuine No. 11 nowadays."

ali : "last 5 wickets added 187 runs.. that seems too much to respond.. Srilanka will need to play really well to beat tht"

Liam: "No century for Somerville then"

12:48pm Sri Lanka will need 268 to win this Test. Only four times has a team made more than 250 in the 4th innings at this ground, so it will be quite a challenge. And that is down to some sensational lower-order batting from New Zealand. It's only the second time that all batsmen from 5-11 have made double-digit scores in a second innings of a Test in Sri Lanka - Australia in 1992 were the last to do it. Will Somerville walks off unbeaten on his highest first-class score. He's batted 118 balls, an effort on par with BJ Watling's 77, another match-saving knock for him. Southee showed restraint, Boult showed flair, and even Ajaz Patel had a bit of fun. Sri Lanka looked flat in the field that last hour. Can they use this lunch break to shake it off? It's not looked a terribly tough surface to bat on, so there is hope.

W
de Silva to Patel, OUT, given lbw! Ajaz will review, of course. But that looks plumb. An arm ball, trapping him in front of the stumps on the front foot. Close on the no ball. But he's got just the tiniest bit of heel behind the line. No bat on it. And it's all three reds.

Lakmal to Somerville, 2 runs, nicely drive. Length ball outside off, drives on the rise and gets it between extra cover and mid-off

Another record for Somerville, by the way: Most balls faced by a batsman No. 9 or lower in the 3rd or 4th innings in Galle. Goes past Ashley Giles and Ishant Sharma, the only others to bat 100 balls or more. It's also the highest by an overseas batsman for positions 9-11.
