6.46 pm: So India end with 296 for 7. Not as many as they would have expected when Rahul and Pandey were batting, but more than they would have expected when they lost three wickets in the first 12.1 overs. A decent little stand of 16 runs in the last 10 balls between Jadeja and Saini to help India finish well. Bennett's 4/64 were the best figures for New Zealand and that 47th over he bowled could yet turn out to be crucial. He got both Rahul and Pandey, after having a catch dropped first ball. Magnificent innings from Rahul though, who has gone from strength to strength on this tour. Shreyas Iyer and Manish Pandey both played good supporting hands. Do India have enough? It's not an intimidating total, but it is one that will require New Zealand to bat well. Join us shortly for the chase.

Southee to Saini, FOUR, low full toss, Saini gets down on one knee and slams it over mid-off. Nobody back at the boundary so he'll finish off the innings with a four.

Southee to Jadeja, 1 run, full toss outside off, Jadeja will feel like he's missed out, slashed it straight to point. Jadeja runs for the single, Saini is slow to respond. Makes it safely because there is no direct hit

Southee to Jadeja, 1 wide, down the track and Southee goes for the full and wide ball again. This time it's too far outside off so he'll have to rebowl it

Southee to Jadeja, FOUR, clever from Jadeja. Moved well across and instead of trying to drive it, lifted it over short fine leg

Southee to Jadeja, no run, superb bowling. Going across him but shortens his length, while making the batsman expect a fuller ball. Jadeja misses with the cut. He was asking for it to be a wide but had moved across

Southee to Saini, 1 bye, Southee follows the Bennett template, bowls it short and outside off. Saini misses again but Jadeja has sprinted down and called Saini through. Good work from Latham to hit the stumps direct, but Jadeja is so quick he's made it.
