9.12pm So for the second time in this short limited-overs tour, we'll be going into a decider. India's bowlers were under a hint of pressure when Hope and Pooran threatened to set shop and go for the kill, but Shami had other ideas. In a rip-roaring spell, he came in and dismissed Pooran and Pollard first-ball to puncture West Indian hopes.

Sid Monga writes: "For the second time in a must-win game, the home batsmen stood up to post a well-above-par total. Often, during the last four-five years, the batsmen could have been accused of conservative batting, leaving the bowlers seemingly impressive but ultimately subpar totals to defend. Not in Mumbai in the T20I decider, not in Vizag when asked to bat to keep the ODI series alive."

Rohit Sharma is the Man of the Match for his 159. "It was a much-needed win, after losing in Chennai. Wanted to get our act together. Started very well, was a crucial partnership upfront, KL batted well, allowed me to take my time. A great batting performance backed up by a good bowling performance. KL is such a talent when you watch him from the opposite end. Running between the wickets wasn't upto the mark between both of us, but we'll get used to it soon. We can take a lot of confidence from how we created that partnership."

Virat Kohli, the India captain: "What's been good is in the last three games, including the one at Wankhede and first two ODIs, we've batted well in the first half. Batting second isn't an issue, we're one of the top sides, if not the best, while chasing. It's always good to get 40-50 extra. Rohit and KL were outstanding, the opening partnership set it up. Shreyas and Rishabh, the way they played, was outstanding. The more we get confident in T20s while batting first, the better. There's no major 50-over cricket now, so we need to just play fearlessly, which is the need of the hour. As a captain, nice to see the way we've batted first after losing the toss. It shows we're not reliant on the toss, we want to bat oppositions out of the game. We need to field better, we can't afford to drop catches like we have. Fielding is about wanting the ball, as long as we enjoy ourselves, we'll be right up there on the field as well."

Kieron Pollard, the West Indies captain: "I thought we gave it away in the last 20 overs with the ball, didn't execute well. It goes to show in order for them to win, they've to score big against us. For us, it's looking to improve in small areas. We weren't able to execute our plans like we would've liked. Maybe 40-50 runs less, it would've been much different. Credit to them, Rohit and KL batted well, it allowed the guys lower down the order come and score freely. Pooran and Hetmyer - talented youngsters who I've spoken about earlier. Hope too has shown consistency in the way he goes about his game. It's a matter of putting the pieces of the puzzle together, nothing happens overnight. We deserve to go out with a bang, our heads and shoulders are still high. We'll come back and fight hard in a couple of days."

Kuldeep Yadav is besides the boundary ropes for a chat: "It's been a perfect day for me. A second one in ODIs, I can't express it in words. Feeling very happy about it. It's been tough for me [the last 6-8 months]. I've been working very hard. I was struggling for four-five months, but now I'm bowling well, with the perfect pace and with the right variations, so it's very satisfying for me. There wasn't much dew today, we knew they'll come hard at us, so I was just trying to mix my pace up with the variations. It was gripping, so I was looking to turn the ball and vary my pace. I was a bit confused what to bowl for the hat-trick ball, then I thought I had to get in a second slip and bowl a wrong'un on the stumps. Happy that it came off."
