5.45 pm: Some great batting by Iyer and Pant, and a great revival by India after losing their top three relatively cheaply. Good bowling by West Indies at the end too, but they have a tough chase on their hands you'd think, with the slow pitch. Karthik will be back for the second innings, which will start shortly.
Shreyas Iyer: I feel it's a good achievement with me, I should continue with my form and see to it that I make my team win everytime. I was really tempted between the 15th to 35th over when the offie came on (to hit in the air) but we needed a partnership. After the 35th over when I saw the ball was in my slot, I went for it and hit a six (off Chase). Pant is the kind of batsman who can change the momentum of the game and that's what he did today. I just told him to try and hit straight because you'll get to know the wicket and know how you can play. I feel the pitch will turn more. If we bowl our spinners at the right time, we'll be on top. It's slow and as the game goes on it'll get more slow. The dew factor will come, so it's difficult to say.
5.40 pm: West Indies have gone way above the time limit. But all the talk will be about the umpiring decision that sent Jadeja back. Ultimately, the right decision was made, so perhaps that's what matters. But it does open up questions about how these decisions will be made in the future.

V SIDDHESH: "India stuttering through a combination of events, but major credit to WI bowlers for being spot on with their yorkers and slower balls. That has forced the batsmen to either dig out the ball or given then no room to work with. Batsmen also not helping their chances by wildly swinging at every slower delivery and missing. "

Aumkar : "Shivam Dube looks like a mix of Klusener and Yuvi batting..."
sravan: "Umpires these days go up for run-out decisions, even for cases where the batsman is clearly in. If this one didn't, then the main question is did WI even appeal? If they did, but not before seeing the replay on the big screen, then that's out of spirit. But if they did before, and if the umpire went up after seeing the replay, then that's a grey area about which I guess we need new rules now."

So Chase made more of a polite enquiry than an appeal. But he definitely asked a question, even if gently, to the umpire when the direct hit was effected.
Vamsi: "Had any of the fielders appealed? " - Our scorer Thilak spotted Roston Chase appealing as soon as the direct hit was effected.
Chetan: "This is absolutely bizzare, it's like you have already given not out to caught behind, ball is dead, but replays show edge and then you call third umpire to rule batsman out, weird weird weird"
