11.45pm: That is a fine comeback by West Indies, reminding England that you have to build partnerships (plural). They rounded up 6 for 46 this morning, as the platform provided by Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes was kicked from under England; you would have banked on them getting to 300, at least, although this might well turn out to be a par score, given the amount of seam and swing on show so far. Buttler was dispatched early, Stokes fell to a brilliant catch from Shane Dowrich, and then Roach whistled through the tail in another spot of second-spell brilliance. What can England's bowlers summon in response? We'll find out shortly, with a 10-minute mini-session before lunch for the West Indies openers to negotiate

Roach to Anderson, OUT, snorting short ball, rearing up and gloved to slip! Excellent ball, to any batsman never mind England's venerable No. 11, he turned away and threw up his hands reflexively, the ball lobbing gently off the top hand to fourth slip. Job done, West Indies

Roach to Anderson, no run, fired in full, Anderson gets his bat down in time

Well, I was going to say Wood was England's best chance of getting to 300... but here's James Anderson, four slips waiting

W
Roach to Wood, OUT, short ball, top-edged on the hook... and taken nonchalantly on the run by Joseph at fine leg! Looked like it might go all the way, then it appeared a tough chance for Joseph, haring across to his right; but he pouched it like a man catching a cupcake tossed across the counter and just kept on running along the rope, cool as

Here's Cris: "Contrary to the doom and gloom from the English fans, I think that England have done well here. There's enough happening off the surface for the quicks even with the older ball. Get to 325 and England will be favorites methinks." Might take some getting now, but point taken

Roach to Bairstow, OUT, timber! Loose drive and YJB sees his stumps pinged again! He has not looked comfortable, taken a bit of a peppering, and Roach finally finds his spot... Full and tempting, Bairstow falls for it hook, line and sinker, via a thick inside edge
