11pm Rohit collects the trophy and hands it to the youngest member of the team - Shubman Gill. Vijay Shankar now gets his hands on the trophy. India's players celebrate their 4-1 victory. India have ticked most boxes, NZ not quite. Be back for the three-T20I series. Until next time, this is Deivarayan Muthu signing off on the behalf of Ankur Dhawan.
Enjoying the Sunday off? At ESPNcricinfo, our Sunday plans were to cover around 24 hours of cricket, starting from the Test in Australia and ending with the Test in Antigua. West Indies have done us a favour, but you can still catch how our staff around the world brings the action to you today - AUS-SL, NZ-IND, Ranji Trophy, PAK-WI, BBL, UAE-NEP, SA-SL, and SA-PAK. 10.30pm Rohit won the toss and opted to test his batting line-up first up on a pitch that had some moisture. The demons of Hamilton reappeared when India were pinned down to 18 for 4 by the moving ball. Vijay Shankar, who got a game in place of Kuldeep Yadav, impressed with an ice-cool 45 in a 98-run stand with Rayudu. Vijay fell to an awful mix-up and sacrificed his wicket, but Rayudu moved to 90. Pandya then provided the finishing kick with a slew of sixes, including three on the trot off Astle.
NZ lost Munro and Nicholls early in the chase. While Williamson and Latham added 67 for the fourth wicket, India's bowlers continued to chip away. The spinners Jadhav and Chahal also played their part in the victory. And who can forget Dhoni's magic behind the stumps. Do stick around for the presentation
Rayudu, Player of the Match: It was tough against a quality attack. I was thinking we should take the game to the 30th over without losing a wicket. Me Vijay and Kedar batted...People who bat at 4,5,6 get a chance only when it's tough. It's important to stay prepared. The game in Hamilton was one-off. Great effort by our bowlers to defend it
Shami, Player of the Series
Kane Williamson: First of all a different surface. They got to a par total, maybe a few more. We knew it would be tricky, but we did not take it further. We just lost wickets at the wrong time. They did it very well. Rayudu played well with 90 and did not score for a long time. Then they put the pressure back on us - it's a lesson for us. Their accuracy was great. Tommy Latham and me could have taken it further. Credit to India, they showed us a lesson and they deserve the series win. I suppose as batsmen we need to soak that pressure up and take those decisions. Thoughout the series, they got us under more pressure. We were able to revert the pressure but not long enough and often enough.
Rohit Sharma: After the Hamilton loss, the way we lost was big. We need to get together as a team. After we lost four wickets, all we needed was somebody to show application. The partnership between Rayudu and Vijay Shankar turned the game for us. The wicket got flat at the end, but at one point it looked an easy chase, but the bowling unit came together. Lot of people put their hands up and got us through. I knew there was some moisture on the pitch. If the series was alive, we would have chased. We wanted to test ourselves today. I couldn't ask for more. The partnership from Rayudu and Shankar was crucial. When you want to win games, you need a right balance, especially when Bumrah is not here. Coming here and beating NZ at home is never easy and they are a good travelling team as well. 4-1 is a great achievement

Debayan: "@Vageesan Everytime I see the score-card I can't help but read it as Nathan Astle ahh the NZ team of 90s. This one's good no doubt. But that team of Mcmillan, Cairns, Harris, Vettori, Fleming, Young and Parore evoke some fine childhood memories"

Shoaib Ahmed: "Such odd captaincy from Kane today. In the middle overs when they were milking CDG and Munro, didn't use the leg spinner. And only brought Astle on at the death!"
Simon: "CDG had the opportunity to stand up with the bat. May miss out on WC because he can't play quality spin."
