Bangladesh have successfully chased a score over 300 only thrice in ODIs, the last such win coming in the 2015 world cup, against Scotland, in Nelson
Harry: "BD need to learn how to keep scoring without reckless shots at the top. Look at nZ score for first 25 overs where they were well below their final run rate. If BD tries to match final run rate at every over from beginning, then they will loose half the side by 10th or 20th over. then game is over. For example, dont praise when soumya flicks a ball for 6. you know suicide is coming."
Saleque Sufi: "Chasing 331 on any wicket against any bowling on any wicket is always a huge challenge . I do not think Bangladesh bowled at all well. Kiwis were savage on Mustafiz . He could not adjust his line and length and was predictable . Anyway with nothing to loose tigers must be positive and fight "
Michael: "If the Bangladeshi top order bat well this could be a good game. And you would expect that they are due to do just that. Here's hoping!"
Nazmul: "Bangladesh's top order should take the responsibilities as threir inform player Mithun is not playing today. They should show their characters today."
2.35pm Not much went right for Bangladesh after opting to bowl, exemplified by Mustafizur Rahman's returns of 2 for 93 in ten overs, by far his worst in an ODI. Nearly all New Zealand batsmen had a hit in the middle, and all of them, barring Colin Munro, had an impact. Ross Taylor headlined the innings with 69, as he went past Stephen Fleming to become the leading run scorer for New Zealand in ODIs. Henry Nicholls showcased his versatility, cracking another half-century, this time at No.3, and stand-in captain, Tom Latham, looked in sublime touch during his 51-ball 59. James Neesham and Colin de Grandhomme had some fun towards the end to catapult the total to 330.
Perhaps Bangladesh can take solace in the fact that in the last ODI at the venue a similar score was chased down, but they'll have to bat a lot better than they have on the tour so far, and remember, they are a batsman light. Back with the chase soon
