10.24am A tame end to England's innings. They were looking to get on with things this morning, but all three wickets fell to poor shot selection. As a result, Sri Lanka will feel they can get stuck into a day's batting and haul things back. Sandakan has his second five-wicket haul in Tests, and Sri Lanka will feel that they are well and truly in this game.

John: "Moeen Ali will be criticised for that shot but isn't that how Sam Curran played and he was praised. He appeared to want to hit that straighter but it came off the outside half and didn't get the distance. If it had gone for six over the bowler's head we'd have been praising Mo as well." I think many England players bat the same way. Was just an odd shot from Moeen, as he didn't fully go through with it. Had he decided to tonk the gubbins out of that, that would have been six.
