2:56pm That's all from us today. Thanks for joining. We'll bring you the Cape Town ODI soon. In the mean time, PV Sindhu is playing in the final of the India Open, where she is the defending champion. Follow all the live updates here.
Kohli: We thought at the toss the ball was going to do a bit early. Again Bhuvi and Bumrah didn't give too much away. We knew if we got the two openers, the middle order would be shaky. The pitch was harder than Durban and the spinners used it. We knew we won't get grass on the pitch because when it's seaming, it can be anyone's game. We knew the wickets would be hard and dry and knew our wristpinners can get it to turn anywhere. They just didn't give SA any chance. 2-0 is a wonderful position to be in. We want to cash in on that.
Markram: Not the best performance, no. It's a day we're gonna have to be really honest with ourselves. Not ideal [soft dismissals] starting from myself. It was always going to be difficult to defend but look, the day is over. We can't afford slip-ups now. It might bring out the best in us. It's a good position to be in.
Chahal: First away tour and I'm enjoying it here. It's about how mentally tough you are. Not too different from India, the conditions, maybe just the ground was a little smaller. When I took the first wicket and he [Kuldeep] came and took two wickets, the pressure was on the batsmen.
Yuzvendra Chahal is the Man of the Match.
WATCH - Kohli and Dhawan's 93-run stand. (Available in the Indian subcontinent).
2:38pm India are 2-0 up and they've done it with some dominance today. South Africa, without Faf today, couldn't recover after India's wristspinners let rip at the middle order. Yuzvendra Chahal got his first five-wicket haul in ODIs, and Kuldeep picked up his sixth three-wicket haul in 14 innings. Those two are coming closer to being permanent fixtures with every match. India's batsmen didn't have too much to do. Rohit Sharma fell early, but Dhawan's fifty in partnership with Kohli barely had any glitches. A nine-wicket win with nearly 30 overs to spare. Stick around as we bring you the presentation.
END OF OVER:20 | (maiden) | IND: 117/1 (2 runs required from 30 overs, RR: 5.85, RRR: 0.06)
- Shikhar Dhawan51 (56b)
- Virat Kohli44 (47b)
- Tabraiz Shamsi3-1-18-0
- Imran Tahir5-0-28-0
2 runs remain, and SA bowl 3-4 maidens on the trot? You cannot guarantee that 2 runs will take just a minute to get. You can always extend play saying that there are only 2 more runs to get, but at some point, you need to stop. That point has been decided by the ICC as 15 minutes. I see nothing wrong in that."
