5.05 pm Teams around the world demand one of their top order batsmen to bat deep. India got two - Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli - batting through till the 40th over, both scoring hundreds. And for the most part, it seemed like nothing could stop them, barring the odd misunderstanding while running between the wickets. There were sumptuous short-arm pulls. Eye-catching drives. And such calculated hitting that at no point did India's innings flat. They began searching for 300, they've got 37 more. This is going to be a pretty difficult chase, but New Zealand have a lot of motivation to get it done. They haven't ever won an ODI series here.

"Felt really good spending time in the middle. Having missed out in the previous two games, wanted to make it count today. Took my time initially, I knew Southee and Boult with the new ball wouldn't be easy. But I carried on from there," Rohit Sharma says. "I think under lights, it will play a little better, but we have got enough runs and hopefully our bowlers can be on the mark. I enjoy batting with Virat. Having someone like him at the other end makes it easier on me.

Devine: "Seems the point from which teams are doubling their score is moving further along as the game progresses. India has almost doubled their score after 31 overs"

Anirban: "NZ bowled really well in the last two overs. Lots of slowers, scrambled seam, variation in length and speed. Too little too late ?"

ammar: "So india gave the target of 338. The same target which pakistan set for india in champions trophy final 2017, Ahh cant forget."

@Tharun: "Blackcaps have been doing pretty well with the resources they have. A country with 5 million population is undisputed King in rugby which is the main sport of New Zealand and they nearly made it to FIFAWC 18, Also not to forget good team in hockey as well. New Zealand has done really great in all sports in respect to the population. says Jawad from Kerala"

Shreekanth: "I don't think a lot of people have realised how one dimensional this Indian batting can be at times in the death. How often do you see an Indian batsman lap, scoop, reverse, switch at the death? Yes, you cannot play them all the balls, but just like the bowlers with variations, batsmen need to pull something out the hat. If not, it can bite the team back on a belter of a surface like this one."

Milne to Jadhav, OUT, caught at long-on! It's a slow short ball outside off, Jadhav pulls it hard, but with there being no pace to work with, and these being decent-sized boundaries, he is taken by Guptill
