Dushmantha Chameera, Player of the Match: I am happy. My plan was to bowl straight, wicket to wicket, in the powerplay and use change of pace. Execution is the most important thing. (Plan in the last few overs) After the dew, it was easy to bat...my plan was to use yorkers and I tried to stick to my strengths, and the execution was right

Salman Ali Agha, Pakistan Captain: Where we came from, 40 for 4 - you don't often come back and chase it down but we went (close). I think it was gettable with the dew coming in but we lost too many wickets in the powerplay and gave away too many runs in the powerplay. If you give too many runs in the powerplay, you'll always be chasing the game. (On personal form) I would have been happier if I had finished the game but it was good to spend some time out in the middle.

Dasun Shanaka, Sri Lanka Captain: Really happy. Mentioned the other day that we should perform in this manner, proud of how the boys bounced back. Everybody contributed so I'm happy. Kamil Mishara showed his capability and the discussions with the coaches helped him. Kusal Mendis and everyone chipped in. When it comes to bowling, of course Chameera - world-class bowling. So, an all-round performance and we're looking forward to the final

A nail-biting affair that gave fans plenty to rejoice about and those in the stands their money's worth. The game ebbed and flowed but Sri Lanka prevailed, and it's all beautifully set up for the final. Sri Lanka have the feel-good factor and Pakistan have been consistent as well this series. Both teams will field their best XIs and it should be a cracker on Saturday. A superb knock from Mishara, Salman and brilliant death bowling from Chameera were the standout performances. Thank you for your company and comments. It's goodbye and goodnight from me, Rvel Zahid

Abbas : "I am a Pakistani fan but loved that smile on Jayasurya's face. One of my all time favorite players"

Usman: "The absence of power hitters will cost Pakistan in the T20 WC. I am surprised that Abdul Samad has not been given a chance.Another T20I DUCK for Babar. I dont want to say much but is there some writing on the wall.Fakhar Zaman has to play in the TOP 4. We will encounter matches like these in the T20 WC and we need to be prepared accoridngly."

Muhammad Ans : ""Abbas"
Same feelings here, watching Sanath Happy made the day. Happy for Sri Lanka, hoping for good final. May the better team wins.

Ama: "Without taking too much away from Salman and the team for making a really awesome recovery, i feel Pakistan always leaves too much for the last over. "

Chameera to Mohammad Wasim, no run, Over the wicket, hitting the blockhole for fun now, couldn't have executed the yorker any better, perfect delivery to bowl at this stage and right at the base of the bat at off-stump, can't do much about it, blocked into the leg side and Sri Lanka have made it to the final of this tri-series! Excellent over from Chameera, stepped up to the plate and Sanath Jayasuriya is a relieved coach! All set up beautifully for the final on Saturday

Ranjit B : "Agha must be furious at the "No crossing allowed on wicket" rule. "

Hassan: "The umpire should wait for the play to be completed before giving a decision. So if a review gets overturned the run can count. Like they do with the offside VAR check in football"

W
Chameera to Faheem Ashraf, OUT, Another yorker length delivery on middle, slanted in, he miscues it, shoveling down the ground and swallowed by the fielder at long-on, excellent catch from Shanaka and Chameera has held his nerve and nailed his yorkers and slower ones when it mattered the most

Faheem Ashraf c Shanaka b Chameera 7 (9m 6b 1x4 0x6) SR: 116.66

Priyank: "That is pathetic rule for on field goofs up. Imagine Pakistan was not qualified here and their qualification up would have been pathetic"

Chameera to Faheem Ashraf, no run, Bowls a heat-seeking yorker on middle that straightens a bit as he loads up for a flick into the leg-side. Big deflection off the bat into the pads and the decision is overturned the single doesn't count because it was given out, frustrating for Pakistan but that's the rule
19.3
2
Chameera to Faheem Ashraf, 2 runs, Around the wicket, goes full and slants in at off, lashes it downtown and a misfield at long-on leaks an extra run, but, thankfully, for Sri Lanka, it doesn't trickle away to the rope, quickly backed up
19.2
1
Chameera to Agha Salman, 1 run, third and fine inside the ring. Slower one angled into his midriff, he prances down the track and almost lofted it straight to the man (Malinga) at long-on. Salman is off-strike. Who will hold their nerve better?

Chameera to Agha Salman, no run, Incredible delivery, fraction short leg cutter cuts away from fourth stump line, tries to launch it downtown and doesn't connect

Hassnain: "@Udayan, it doesn't matter at the moment. SL is a good team. Chasing will give confidence to repeat against much better opposition. It also helps PAK to test their middle order. "

Malinga to Faheem Ashraf, no run, Pace-off shortish length and very close to the marker, touch and go and not given as a wide. 10 off 6 needed, will there be a super over?
18.5
4
Malinga to Faheem Ashraf, FOUR, Crucial delivery and Faheem chomps it away to extra cover, spirited effort from Shanaka, gave his best to keep it inside the rope, a lovely inside-out spank.

1
Malinga to Agha Salman, 1 run, Brilliantly bowled, good length and angled across off, very wide, reaches out and stabs it away into the covers, mistmed, only a single

1
Malinga to Faheem Ashraf, 1 run, Around the wicket, back of a length and angled into off, chipped in the air and goes inches away from the bowler as he flicks his left hand out and the ball swirls away from his reach

W
Malinga to Mohammad Nawaz, OUT, Wide of the crease from around the wicket, bit short from a good length and shapes it in from outside off, takes the bait and larrups it up but lifts it straigh to the man at long-off, very important breakthrough for Sri Lanka. Hasaranga with a neat catch, hangs onto it brilliantly, excellent contribution

Malinga to Mohammad Nawaz, SIX, Packed house and fans are on the edge of their seats. Over the wicket, fuller in length and on fifth stump line, thumped over long-off for a six, perfect start for Pakistan and Sri Lanka have allowed the hosts to get off the hook after having them by the scruff of the neck

Chameera to Mohammad Nawaz, 1 run, Can he finish the over with a boundary? Lands it on a fuller length on middle, lifts it up towards cow corner, cannot return for the second, quickly hunted down in the deep, closes out the over quietly. 22 from 12 needed. What an exhilarating contest it has been! And now the umpire has lost his cool, Nawaz needs another pair of gloves?
17.5
1
Chameera to Agha Salman, 1 run, Pace-off shorter length with width on offer, waits patiently on the backfoot and plinks it out to deep backward point, and another change of gloves and perhaps a message, it's Naseem who is out with a pair of gloves.

gkluhana: "having watched so many teams turn it around a chase against Pakistan, such a treat to watch them be the ones to do it!"

rfan Ullah : "From 10% to 65% win prediction. This is Pakistan. ..."

Udayan: "Poor captaincy and more poor bowlingChameera should have been bowled earlier Pak should remember the better teams will not let go after having them 44/4"

Chameera to Mohammad Nawaz, 1 run, wide of the creade, rams the yorker close to the blockhole on middle, pushed along the carpet to long-off

around the wicket

Chameera to Mohammad Nawaz, FOUR, KABOOM! Sprinting in, lands it full and offers width, he throws his bat at it and slices it with an upper-cut past third man for a four and the fortune favours the brave. Another timely boundary. Sri Lanka need a wicket and that too very quickly! Nawaz turning on the beast mode just at the right time! Timely hits and there's a bit of a meeting going on in the middle. Chameera under the pump. Shaheen out there with a pair of gloves for Nawaz and some instruction
17.2
6
Chameera to Mohammad Nawaz, SIX, Slammed into the pitch on a shorter length just outside off, flexes his muscles and launches it over midwicket for a six! Clears the rope, bombastic batting continues and Pakistan are right back into the contest! Tables have turned
17.1
1
Chameera to Agha Salman, 1 run, Over the wicket, slower back of a length angling across off, opens the face and edges it to the keeper, drops short of him, excellent save from the keeper, only a single, tremendous fightback from Pakistan
