Here's a stat nugget from Sampath: 314/9 is the highest team total to involve a five-wicket haul in Women's ODIs. Previous highest was 271/7 by Australia in 2021, where New Zealand's Leigh Kasperek took six wickets.

5:06pm India's second-highest team total in a women's ODI in India, and they were full value for it. Mandhana continued her fine form, setting the platform and stitching together a century partnership with debutant Rawal. Deol and Harmanpreet also looked good while they were at the crease, as did Ghosh and Rodrigues. None of them, though, could go past 44 and that is probably what prevented India from getting past 325, not to mention Deepti's questionable decision-making towards the back end.

Not a great outing with the ball for the visitors, despite James bagging a five-wicket haul. They seemed off the pace and their execution, in particular, seemed to let them down. They now have a mountain to climb and will need their stars to stand up to have any chance. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Pratika Rawal: (On if there were a few nerves walking out to open) Yes, it is a proud feeling. This is what I love doing and to do it for your country is a privilege. I was a bit nervous but when I walked in with Smriti di, it made my job easy. The ball was coming onto the bat and it was just expected that I go out there and play the way I play. It is a treat to watch her (Mandhana) from the other end. Have watched all her matches, even when I was growing up. She missed out on her hundred but batted tremendously well. (On if there was any bowler that needed special attention) No. (On the score) I think it is a very good total. Very good total to defend. (On if there has been dew when they have practiced) Yes, there was.

Zaida James to Priya Mishra, 1 run, back of a length outside off. Mishra drops it into the off side and Deepti finally says yes to the single. A single off the last ball and India finish on 314!

Zaida James to Priya Mishra, no run, oh dear - this is, well, tough to explain! Full outside off. Mishra pushes it towards extra cover and Deepti again sends her back

Zaida James to Priya Mishra, 4 byes, goes through everything! Fizzed in on a back of a length on middle and leg. Zips in with the arm and Mishra plays outside the line. Gets beaten completely but the ball, sneaking past leg stump, also beats the keeper. Four bonus runs!

Zaida James to Renuka Singh, OUT, James has five, and India are nine down! Given a bit of air just outside off. Renuka skips down the track, looking to smash it into next week. Makes a complete hash of it, though, and arrows it straight down long on's throat. Deepti continues to be at the non-striker's end, and India a little guilty of not making the most of these last few overs...

Zaida James to Renuka Singh, no run, back of a length outside off. Renuka wafts at it and gets a thick outside edge towards short third. She hares down for the single, but Deepti sends her back. Puzzling

Zaida James to Sadhu, OUT, soft, soft dismissal! Darted in on a length on off. Seems to hold in the surface and that meddles with Sadhu's timing. She cloths it badly and Joseph does the rest at extra cover. James with her fourth, and Deepti remains off strike!

TR Sadhu c Joseph b Zaida James 4 (5m 5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 80.00

India's designated batter off strike for the start of the last over, which will be bowled by James. How far can India go?

Alleyne to Sadhu, 1 run, fullish just outside off. Sadhu plants her front foot and shanks it over the bowler's head. Deepti seems to say no to the second, which is rather perplexing

Alleyne to Sadhu, no run, full toss on middle stump. Sadhu jams it back towards the bowler

Alleyne to Sharma, 1 run, safe! Full on leg stump. Deepti plants her front foot and chips it on the bounce to long on. Could have carried to the fielder on another day

Alleyne to Sadhu, 1 run, thigh-high full toss on leg stump, perhaps exaggerated with Sadhu coming down the track. She tugs it into the spaces on the leg side and picks up a single

Alleyne to Sharma, 1 wide, another delivery down leg, and this is not great bowling. Deepti tried to help it fine but once she missed it, the umpire had no qualms in calling it a wide

Alleyne to Sharma, 1 wide, sprays it way down leg. Deepti swishes and misses. Called a wide

Two overs left. Onus on Deepti to get India to 320 and beyond. This is already their second-highest WODI score in India. Alleyne to bowl the 49th

Zaida James to Thakor, OUT, plumb with a capital P! Fired in on a back of a length on middle and off. Saima gets caught on the crease and then plays all around it. Looked pretty adjacent but Saima, after a word with Deepti, has reviewed. Possibly a review because India can still afford one. The ball has missed the bat by a mile. It is missing leg stump too. And off stump as well. Because it is smashing into middle stump. Pretty ordinary review, and India are now seven down!

Zaida James to Thakor, FOUR, and Saima wastes no time to get going! This is short and laced with enough width. Saima waits for it and then knifes it between backward point and short third!

Zaida James to Rodrigues, OUT, knocks her over! Slanted in on a length, pitching just outside off. Comes in with the arm and that flummoxes Rodrigues, who is looking to go inside-out. Only manages a fresh-air swish and hears the death rattle of off stump soon after. This scalp could make a difference of 10-15 runs!

JI Rodrigues b Zaida James 31 (26m 19b 3x4 1x6) SR: 163.15

Deepti needs to find the fence with more regularity, especially with the overs left
