Akindu: "Maybe im influenzed by Indias run fest, but i feel like that last 5 over acceleration was inadequate" --- 9 an over not the worst effort, yeah. West Indies did well in mixing up their pace as well.
9.10pm So Sri Lanka have racked up 47 off the final five overs to push their total to a competitive 179 for 7. Fifties from Kamindu Mendis and Charith Asalanka formed the base of the Lankan innings after they had been asked to bat first. West Indies caught well, but gave away some sloppy runs with instances of poor groundfielding. The hosts will be happy with that total, but West Indies will no doubt fancy the chase. Fidel will be back in a few to start things off in the second innings.
