4.01pm "A few umbrellas going up," says Paul Muchmore at the ground, and it's clear that something unpleasant is rolling across the Pennines. For now, we seem on course for a resumption...

3.50pm What an extraordinary day it's been already. After two and two-thirds' days of this Test, we are basically back where we began, with India leading by six on first innings. But that hardly scratches the surface of the action, particularly in a chaotic afternoon that featured Harry Brook's homegrown 99, and a sensational bout of Bazball boshing from England's lower-order, with Chris Woakes and Brydon Carse to the fore. On their watch, England obliterated a deficit that could have been nearer 70-odd, and forced India to have to turn back to their gun bowler for salvation. He delivered, and he'll be delighted with the five-for, but forcing him into fourth and fifth spells is very much England's gameplan.

And now, a tricky third innings looming for India, on a pitch that is not quite the road it was on days one and two. Some misbehaviour, and some turn for the spinners too. Ashish will be back in ten minutes after tea to see how they get on.

The weather is also closing in a touch, which England won't mind. Gloomy and windy out there right now... hmm! The covers have been rolled out...

Arun: "Critical session coming up for India. India needs to bat till end of day tomorrow else its England game to lose!"

Puneet : "If only india had caught well, that 5-for would have come a lot early, with less tired legs, high lead "

Abhi: "Wow. This already feels like the sixth test of ashes 2024 summer. Bring on this series! Proper box office!!"

Bumrah to Tongue, OUT, bowled him! Jasprit Bumrah has his five-wicket haul! It is another impeccable, unplayable delivery, angled in, pitching on off, straightening off the seam, and pinging the top of off! India's greatest has salvaged the first-innings lead, and a breathless England innings is done!

Bumrah to Shoaib Bashir, 1 run, short, down the leg-side, he does have a swing at this one! Scuffs it away through fine leg to get off the mark and off the strike!

Bumrah to Shoaib Bashir, no run, superbly into line as Bumrah fires in the inevitable inswinging off-stump line. Huge appreciation from the Yorkshire crowd

Bumrah to Shoaib Bashir, no run, outside off, a rare sighter for Bashir. Surprised he wasn't tempted to have a wipe at that one! Instead, he lets it go

Five-for, and a first-innings lead loading?

Jadeja to Tongue, FOUR, oh well played! It looked for a moment as though Tongue had been out-thought, as he gave Jadeja the charge, only for the ball to be fired out wide. Miss that and it's an easy stumping. Instead he lifts it exquisitely over the covers!

Run-out coming up...? In come the fielders for the single

Jadeja to Tongue, no run, good solid length from Jadeja, and Tongue retains his respect as he blocks back down the pitch

Right, it's fair to assume this over is do or die!

Bumrah to Woakes, OUT, nope, he can't manage it! That's just magical bowling from Jasprit Bumrah! Fizzing, backspinning away-swing from Bumrah, on such a tight, full line, hitting the perfect length to draw the drive, then bursting through the slenderest of gates! Woakes played a brilliant hand, but he's done all ends up!

CR Woakes b Bumrah 38 (55b 3x4 2x6) SR: 69.09
