So the series is wrapped up with a game to play, that seventh and final one-dayer is back down at the Premadasa on Tuesday, another day-nighter, so 2.30pm local time and 9am GMT, see you then...

Presentation coming up shortly where the Man of the Match is probably going to be some chap named Kumar. Said Kumar is out on a lap of honour and now has to come and pick up his cheque. Safe to say, a popular choice. Russell Arnold simply hands over the microphone and Sangakkara can say goodbye to his local fans, looking like a definite retirement post-World Cup then...

Alastair Cook is back on the losing side once again: "A real tough day. For the first 20 odd overs we bowled really well. it didn't help me dropping Sanga, It was a real big catch to drop because we'd built up some good pressure. It was probably about a 260 wicket. Credit to Kumar, he made us pay today. My form is hard, you want to score runs. I want to lead from the top of the order and it's tough at the moment. We'll look out our side when we get to Colombo."

Angelo Mathews: "Brilliant game. It was a challenging wicket to bat on. Sangakkara was amazing and set the tone for the batsman to play at the end. The option is still open at the top of the order but Mahela's been batting well at No. 4. the last game we bowled pretty badly but today from ball one we were landing the ball in the right stop. We might try a few things now in Colombo but we'll have a chat to the selectors."

You can say England were troubled by a spinning wicket but it's actually been the seam of Suranga Lakmal that has ruined their chase with four wickets in the middle order, including that of Joe Root who was the only bright point for the visitors with a fluent half-century but found no support today. This has perhaps been England's weakest performance with the bat this series, being bowled out with so much time left in the innings. They will be doubly disappointed with this display coming so soon after their best showing for some time in the fifth ODI only two days ago.

Sri Lanka have put in an excellent performance in the field and were always in control of this second half and have won by 90 runs to clinch the series with a rubber still to play. Bar the first 10 overs of this match, Sri Lanka have been by far the better side today, Kumar Sangakkara made a wonderful century and in the end he's led his side to victory and takes the applause from all sides of the ground and leads his side off in his final ODI in Pallekele.

Senanayake to Tredwell, OUT, down the track again and up she goes, this has gone noewhere and taken by mid-on! A smart catch because that went a long way up but another chance for Dilshan to celebrate. Not the strike Tredwell was looking for, a top edge high into the sky and that's the ball game

Dilshan to Finn, no run, angled in at the pads. Dilly, Dilly, Dilly. He's nothing but keen. This is going so far down a baseball umpire would have said not out, so does Bruce Oxenford. Didn't deter a huge appeal

Dilshan to Woakes, OUT, forward press, pushed back in the air to the bowler and taken low down! A smart return catch, indecision from the batsman, neither tried to belt it nor carefully steer it and pays the penalty. Innocuous off stump delivery, Woakes just misjudged the stroke and tapped it back a foot from the floor, Dilshan down well for the save
