At the Innings break, the Reds will have thought that they had the chance to chade this total down and complete the double over the Lightning this year. It certainly didn't happen that way. Once again the top order stumbled and once the Lightning got on top, they never let their opponents back into it. McCarthy was the top scorer with the bat, with 19. Extras finished on 28. It's been a chasening couple of days for the Reds in front of their home fans. The Lightning bowlers once again shared the wickets, with both Fionn Hand and Gavin Hoey finishing with three wickets. Although they will be equally happy that the two young seamers picked up some wickets too. The 123 run win, means that the Lightning pick up a bonus point for the win and close the gap at the top of the table to 8 points, although the Northern Knights do have a game in hand. The IP50 title this year could go down to the wire. Fionn Hand has just been named the player of the match, with his three wickets adding to the 15 runs that he got with the bat. These two days really couldn't have gone any better for his team. Thanks for following along these two day, it's been a great couple of days down here in Cork. The Interpros move back north of the border next week, and I hope that you can join me then. This is Justin Smyth saying goodbye.
