Liam McCarthy came in after the Reds lost a few wickets and used all of his experience to drive the reds to their target. 39 off only 27 balls, with a few well placed big hits when needed meant that the Reds won with 19 overs to spare. Where the seamers did the damage for the Reds, the Lightning relied on the spin bowling spins of Hoey and Sidhu, although they weren't able to put any real pressure on the Reds batters. With them chasing down the target in such quick time, the Reds manage to pick up a bonus point, putting them into second place on the table, just behind the Northern Knights. To make Josh Manley's day even better, he has just been named the player of the match. Not a bad way to end your first match as Captain. Hope that you will join us again tomorrow as both teams play again, this time in the IP20. I'll be here, I hope that you will be too. Until then, this is Justin saying goodbye from a very sunny Pembroke.
