8:53pm An innings that never really got going. Raheja, who has been in good form, departed inside the powerplay, with Ashwin accounting for him. It was free-fall thereafter, with none of the other batters racking up a substantial score or a partnership. There was a brief phase, when Bafna and Ganesh were together, where the Tamizhans would have felt a score of 140 was possible. But Bafna's dismissal put paid to those hopes.
Lots to admire from this bowling display. The Dragons did not try anything too extravagant and just stuck to bowling right lines and lengths. Ashwin set the tone at the start with an early wicket and a spectacular catch and the rest followed. Vignesh was the standout throughout the innings, with Chakravarthy, who was expensive yesterday, bagging a couple of wickets. The Dragons will be pretty confident of chasing this down. However, if the Tamizhans are to pull this one out of the fire, we will have witnessed something truly special. Join us in a bit for the run-chase!
P Vignesh: (On his plan) I wanted to keep it simple. Did not take much pressure, wanted to just enjoy it. (On their success as a bowling unit tonight) It is all about the process. Playing with them (Ashwin and Chakravarthy) is a learning, and I learn everything from them.
