5.40 pm It was the story of two half-centuries for South Africa. One at the top of the order from Quinton de Kock - his fifth in five ODIs, and the way he was smacking it, no one would believe Wellington had churned out a slow pitch. But he fell as one of two wickets in a Colin de Grandhomme over and at that point it seemed like the visitors would stutter through to a below par total. Enter AB de Villiers. He plodded along until the final 10 overs and then pulled out a fantastic display - not necessarily with boundaries every other ball, but with inventive strokeplay and top-class running between the wickets. And along the way, he became the fastest batsman in ODI history to 9000 runs. South Africa were 180 for 6 but got 88 runs in the last 10 overs and they should fancy defending this.
Akash Gupta: "This is the first time De Villiers' aggregate strike rate in ODIs has touched 100.00!! 9080 runs off 9080 balls! ABD is just phenomenal."
Stevo Breezy: "One day I will tell my grandkids that I lived in age where batsmen were given out after making their ground, without attempting another run. And they will think we were insane "

AB has taken the first ball of the last five overs, and two of them were smashed for four and six. What does he have now against Boult?
