9.37pm: Time for the presentations... West Indies captain Hayley Matthews is named Player of the Match for her 100 not out from 67 balls: "A good day for myself but unfortunate not to get the win. Felt we were 15-20 runs short. We weren't able to build as many partnerships. Hard to defend 150, on the wrong end today. Always good when you can hit a few well. Hope to carry the form through the series. [Bowling] Was going to be hard, plans were solid but we missed out on execution. About picking ourselves up and starting again [in Hove]. Still some positives to take from this game. [Youngsters] Good when girls get an opportunity, like Grimmond making her debut today. Hopefully we have Staf and Campbell back for the next game."

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt: "Happy days, didn't have to do anything. Important thing was taking wickets through the innings. Hayley is such a big player for them but stemming the runs by taking wickets was our method. The chase looked calm and calculated and brilliant to watch. [Captaining] Pretty good, sometimes feels quite muddled and everything going quickly, but I just enjoyed it. [Matthews] If we bowl our best ball more often, we can put more pressure on her, but she played well. The wicket was good with a quick outfield, happy with that total in the end. [One-Day Cup form] That was an important part of preparation, to get cricket under our belts, and that showed today. [Keep momentum] Absolutely, down to Hove, new surface, new day. Hopefully adapt and have another good game."

And that's that for tonight. The international summer in England is underway. Thanks for your contributions. Join us for more tomorrow morning, when the men take on Zimbabwe in an historic Test match. Until then, bye-bye!

9.30pm: After the tribulations of the winter, all is well in the Garden of England. Sophia Dunkley and Heather Knight saw the hosts home with an unbroken partnership of 94 from 61, as Hayley Matthews' heroics with the bat went in vain for West Indies. The only blot on the England copybook was Nat Sciver-Brunt recording a two-ball duck on her maiden outing as permanent captain - but she'll presumably be more than happy with such a comprehensive W to start her tenure

Fraser to Dunkley, FOUR, width and chopped through the covers, the ball may well run away for four... but it's enough for England either way! England win by eight wickets, with room to spare. The Edwards-NSB era starts with a comprehensive victory

Fraser to Knight, FOUR, boshed! Full in the slot outside off and Knight breaks the wrists to send the ball soaring over cover for a one-bounce four

Fraser again, seven needed by England

Here's Prakash: "Out of the 61 (Matthews hit the 62nd today) centuries scored in WT20Is, only 2 have resulted in a loss for the team, Beth Mooney in 2017 (also against England) and Chamari Athapaththu in 2019. Hayley's is on the way to becoming the 3rd one here."
