tara: "the 13 wides conceded also do not help SA's cause"
Sundar: "Good last over by Klaas, but what was Kaur doing there. About 25-30 short I'd say." --- You're a tough one to please, Sundar. Think 276 is pretty competitive on this track.
tara: "I think this will be a very tough ask for SA. Spin is always the decider in these matches. India play SA spin with ease, but SA struggle to get anything away against Indian spinners"
South Africa though will rue plenty of missed chances. They dropped three catches across the innings, while a couple of runout chances also went begging. It was an uncharacteristically sloppy display in the field, and one that has left their batters with plenty of work to do. Fidel will be back for the start of the chase in about 30 minutes.
1.30pm Just three runs off the final over then, but all the damage was done before that as India finished on an above par total of 276. They scored 82 runs in the final 10 overs, capitalising well on the platform that had been set by the top order. Pratika Rawal set the tone again at the top, with her fifth consecutive fifty, but a couple of quick wickets in the middle threatened to derail the innings. Jemimah Rodrigues though ensured that the momentum would remain with India during a 32-ball 41. She was kept company by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who ensured the innings ended on a high.
Great final over so far, can she finish it off?
