Great news, we're about to start. 27 overs for NZ's chase. They need 221.
8:45pm: News is there is going to be an inspection by the umpires at 8:50pm, which means we could have a start as early as 9pm, though probably later. Obviously the overs will be reduced.
8:15pm: Better news actually. Looks like the covers are coming off as the rain has stopped. We might get a shortened chase after all.
7.50pm Still raining in Dambulla. Fidel is back on rain watch.
6.35pm We've had some rain and it has forced the players off the field. That might be it for the Sri Lankan innings. The entire outfield is under the covers (duh!). Sri Lanka should feel pretty good about their work so far. Kusal Mendis cruised to his career-best score (143). He's always had these knocks in him, these singular innings that seem to pull all the focus towards him. Only thing is he goes a little quiet afterwards. Avishka Fernando, with all that power and all that grace, also filled his boots (100). There have only been five successful chases of 300-plus targets in Sri Lanka. But in those five is a bit of a pattern that New Zealand can take solace from. Three of those have come in the last two years. Course if the rain keeps up, it'll be a shortened chase and that will also play into the hands of the team chasing.
Jordan: "NZ will be pretty happy right now. 330 is a big score but not impossible to chase with some luck. Its not the 370 i was worried about. With rain scheduled for at least an hour and predicted storms later NZ will be feeling a lot more comfortable now than 25 overs ago"
Matthew: "Well I guess having to chase around 335 beats chasing 360, right? NZ still gonna have to bat really well to win regardless."
Chuvi : "NZ may be lucky with the rains pouring down. A shortened contest would only help them. "
Gul: "@Qaaid Yes IMO i wanted Kamindu and Kusal to swap positions…Kusal has the ability to score faster…But this knock of his will make it difficult for the selectorsOn the other hand i would swap sadeera with Chamindu and move Janith to 4"

Krishna: "SL have a in form batter in Kamindu Mendis. They are not making use of him properly."
