9.20pm So, half-centuries of differing natures from Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis have taken Sri Lanka to a good score after rain stopped play for just over five hours. Nissanka and Avishka Fernando put on an 81-run opening stand which Roston Chase broke. Rain set in a ball later, and when the match restarted, Kusal Mendis made Sri Lanka's intentions clear by smashing 20 runs off the rest of the Chase over. There were a few wickets towards the end, but Sri Lanka's dexterity with the bat and West Indies' sloppiness in the field (they dropped five catches in all!) will mean the visitors will likely have a steep chase ahead of them if they want to grab a consolation win. Be back with us in around 10 minutes for the start of the chase.

Akindu: "Dont suppose anyones recommending dropping Kusal mendis now?"

Rutherford to BKG Mendis, 3 runs, Great fielding by the long-off fielder at the boundary. But Sri Lanka manage to run three as Sri Lanka finish with 156 on the board after 23 overs. This was full outside off and Kusal Mendis drove it inside out wide of long-off

Joseph to BKG Mendis, 1 run, Very full on middle, dug out towards long-on

And out comes Sri Lanka's best batter in the series, and their captain, Charith Asalanka. Wanindu Hasaranga looks like he is next in line, padded up in the dugout

Joseph to Nissanka, OUT, Oh that's excellent from Alzarri! Bulls-eye! Nissanka squeezes a yorker out in front on the off side and takes off for the single, but the bowler is quick to get to the ball, turn around and throw down the stumps at the non-striker's end in one swift motion. Nissanka was caught well short there, but he has played a good hand here for Sri Lanka on his return

P Nissanka run out 56 (62b 8x4 1x6) SR: 90.32

A wry smile and some applause from Jayasuriya in the Sri Lanka dugout!
