6:47pm A largely sparkling Indian innings, although it did fizzle out rather dramatically towards the end. Much of that sparkle and thrill was because Samson turned up, and he turned up the only way he can. He smashed the ball to all parts, cleared the fence with ease and made batting, at times, look like a walk in the park. He notched up his second T20I hundred, also becoming only the fourth (ever) to make it back-to-back tons in men's T20Is. Suryakumar and Tilak played cameos but none of the others really stood up, which meant India only mustered 35 in the last five.
While South Africa were a little all over the shop at the start and through the middle, they fought back brilliantly once they got rid of Samson. Jansen was probably the stand-out, with Coetzee popping up with a three-wicket haul. Maharaj wasn't bad either, while Peter was the one to put an end to Samson's fun. Given where they were at one stage, they will be happy chasing 203 and with the firepower they have, might even be quietly confident of chasing this down. Join us in a bit for the second innings!
