8pm So, South Africa need 312 to keep the series alive. After opting to bat, Afghanistan rode on a century from Gurbaz and an unbeaten 86 from Omarzai to post a healthy total. Along the way, Gurbaz became Afghanistan's most prolific ODI centurion with seven tons to his name. However, when he looked good for more Burger cut his innings short on 105. "The wicket is not easy and our bowling is one of the best in the world," Gurbaz tells the host broadcaster at the innings break. "We know SA is very experienced and one of the best sides in the world, but it's an opportunity for us to learn and we need to bowl in good areas to win the match." Omarzai took over after Gurbaz's dismissal and gave the innings the final flourish. We will be back with you for SA's reply shortly. Cheers
Jay Deshpande: "The sheer ruthlessness mixed with composure by Afghanistan has been truly something to behold. Not to put pressure on them, but it reminds me of how Sri Lanka were beginning to develop under Ranatunga in the 90s."
Dipendra Shrest: "Extras hurting SA."
