Recruitment is different for each prospect who goes through the process. Some commit early, others commit late, while some are left wondering if the choices they made were the correct ones.
In 2012 there was a lot of movement in recruiting after verbals had been given. But here are five changed commitments in the 2012 class that directly and significantly impact Michigan.
1. Kyle Kalis. The highest-rated offensive lineman in Michigan's 2012 class (and the rising freshman with the most potential to play next fall) was originally committed to Ohio State before reopening his recruitment following the Buckeyes' troubles in 2011. Michigan coach Brady Hoke and company scored big with Kalis, a 6-foot-5, 305-pound offensive guard. Kalis had offers from the likes of Auburn, Alabama and LSU but chose to stay closer to home with Michigan.
