Sooners' Kendel Dolby carted off vs. Vols due to leg injury

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma senior defensive back Kendel Dolby suffered a severe leg injury in the second quarter of Saturday night's game against Tennessee and was carted off the field.

With 8:58 left in the first half, Dolby met Tennessee tackle John Campbell Jr. His right leg bent underneath him awkwardly and he immediately grabbed at it.

Dolby's leg was placed in an air cast, and he was surrounded by the entire Oklahoma defense before being taken off the field.

Dolby, a junior college transfer who arrived at Oklahoma last season, was honorable mention All-Big 12 last year with 49 tackles.

This season, he had seven tackles entering Saturday after missing last week's game against Tulane with a concussion. He recorded three tackles against Tennessee before suffering the injury.

The Sooners are also without wide receiver Nic Anderson, who has been week to week with an undisclosed injury. He started Saturday's game in uniform, then went back to the locker room and came out in street clothes.

OU was already ailing at the receiver position with Jayden Gibson out for the season with a knee injury and Jalil Farooq out with a broken foot suffered in the season opener against Temple.
