FSU's Tarvarus McFadden, Auden Tate leaving early for NFL draft

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State cornerback Tarvarus McFadden and wide receiver Auden Tate are entering the NFL draft.

McFadden made his announcement via a statement released by the university. He was a first-team selection to the AP Preseason All-America team after having eight interceptions in 2016, but his production dropped off this season. He had no interceptions, but his 10 passes defended were second on the team.

Tate, who released his decision via Twitter, led the Seminoles with 10 touchdowns, becoming only the second FSU receiver since 2007 to have 10 or more. He closed his college career with three TDs in Florida State's win over Southern Mississippi in the Independence Bowl.

They join safety Derwin James, tight end Ryan Izzo and defensive end Josh Sweat in leaving early.
