Conor McGregor has called on Katie Taylor's promoters to realise her value and secure her big-money fights.
Irish former Olympic champion Taylor successfully defended her lightweight WBA and IBF world titles at the TD Gardens in Boston Saturday with a comfortable points defeat of Cindy Serrano.
Compatriot McGregor watched from ringside and visited Taylor's dressing room before and after the fight to show his support.
The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion released a video of his post-fight meeting with Taylor on Instagram in which he described her as an "Irish hero".
"It's an honour to see you live -- you're an Irish hero, and I mean that," McGregor told Taylor backstage.
"Start taking on the division, and going at it. Because you have the ferociousness in you. You're ruthless in there. I could see it in your eyes when you were in there.
"So just keep doing your thing. I have your back all the way. I'll back you all the way, whatever you need.
"I'm proud of you and who you are as a woman, not just as a boxer. Inside the ring of course, but outside the ring as well I have a lot of respect for you."
McGregor then stayed for pictures with Taylor and her team before releasing an Instagram post in which he called for Taylor's promoter Eddie Hearn to ensure she is "correctly and fairly up that money tree".
When Taylor asked McGregor if he was looking to fight again soon following his controversial defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, McGregor responded:
"I'm looking to get back in of course, see what happens but obviously there's stuff with the Nevada Athletic Commission so we'll make a judgement on that and then we'll go from there."
