ORLANDO, Fla. -- As July's third live evaluation period opened on Wednesday, there was plenty of talent on display at the AAU Nationals. From established ESPN 60 prospects like Luke Kennard to rising stars like Doral Moore to super sleepers like Maurice Howard and D.J. Porter, one of the common themes was players who are raising their stock.

Here’s a look at some of the top performers from Wednesday at the AAU Nationals.

Maurice Howard (Saluda, S.C./Saluda)

2014, PG, 5-9, 175

Travel Team: Emerald City Dream Team

It’s always good when you feel you have found someone new. Howard is a compactly build point guard who looks like he should be playing cornerback in the NFL. He is extremely strong but showed the ability to do everything you need a point guard to do. He was a good passer and a solid shooter with range to 20 feet. You hate to go too overboard when seeing a player for the first time, but in this year of minimal quality at the point guard position, Howard is definitely worth a look.

Doral Moore (Locust Grove, Ga./Luella)

2015, C, 7-0, 230

Travel Team: Atlanta Express

This big fella is just scratching the surface of what he can do, but he is scratching it with a Bowie knife! He is long and raw but is a solid athlete for a 7-footer and has good developing skills. He had strong moments in his second game on Wednesday before leaving with a knee injury. Moore is a prospect with a quickly increasing national profile who will probably be included in our next update to the 2015 ESPN 60 player rankings.

Luke Kennard (Franklin, Ohio/Franklin)

2015, SG, 6-4, 180

Travel Team: King James Shooting Stars 16s

Kennard has been having an excellent summer. After garnering offers from Kentucky and Duke, the ESPN 60 prospect had a solid start to his 2013 AAU Nationals experience this week. The lefty made shots and nice passes in his team’s opening pool play wins. He is a big time, though a little streaky, shooter who has raised his national profile in the past month. The field at the 16-and-under AAU Nationals is very good this year, so it should be a lot of fun as the week progresses.

Ronnie Rousseau (Cincinnati/Winton Woods)

2014, PG, 5-9, 165

Travel Team: Queen City Prophets

Rousseau is a super-quick scoring point guard who is smallish in stature but big in game. He is very effective getting to the basket and has greatly improved his decision-making and passing. Rousseau has a full repertoire offensively, can score at all three levels and is a streaky shooter with range beyond 20 feet. When motivated, Rousseau is also a solid defender who can get up into his opponent and create havoc. He is a mid-major special who is making a name for himself in July.

Danjel Purifoy (Centerville, Ala./Bibb County)

2015, SF/SG, 6-6, 185

Travel Team: Atlanta Express

Purifoy is an extremely talented wing with a tremendous upside, and there isn’t much he can’t do on the basketball court. He is a good athlete who can handle the ball and is an improving shooter. He needs to improve the consistency of his effort, but his talent is unmistakable. Purifoy is another player who could see his ranking jump a great deal in the next update.

Darelle Porter Jr. (Pittsburgh/Obama Academy)

2014, SG, 6-4, 175

Travel Team: DeJuan Blair All Stars

Porter is a skilled wing who has the ability to get a lot done on the basketball court. "DAP 2" has good length to his frame, is a solid passer and shooter, and has the potential to be a lockdown defender because of his length and defensive instincts. Porter is one of this summer’s super sleepers.
