With five triples Saturday night, Stephen Curry passed his father on the all-time 3-point list, nudging his career total of treys to 1,248, three ahead of Dell Curry.
Here’s a snap shot of the Curry-laden section of the NBA’s long-range leaderboard, which also includes Hedo Turkoglu, who announced his retirement this week:
In Golden State's first 11 games this season, Curry has now drained 57 3s. That’s 16 more than any other player in league history through the first 11 games of any given season, topping the 41 in 11 games rung by Baron Davis in 2003-04, as well teammate Klay Thompson's 38 3s through 11 games in 2013-14.
Shooting 45.2 percent from deep this season, compared to 39.3 percent in his MVP campaign in 2014-15, Curry is on pace for 423 triples this season, which would shatter his own single-season NBA record of 286.
