Today: Indiana's A-Listers
What is an A-Lister? In Hollywood, it's the George Clooney and Julia Roberts crowd. In the NFL, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are A-Listers. In the NBA, it’s LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. The A-List is the best of the best. So which athletes can be considered A-Listers in Indiana this year? That’s where today’s list comes in. Regardless of sport, here’s our list of the top five A-List athletes in the state.
Yogi Ferrell, Senior
Park Tudor, Basketball
Credentials: Rated the No. 3 point guard in the country by ESPNU. Averaged 18.5 points and 6.6 assists while leading Park Tudor to a state championship last year.
Gary Harris, Senior
Hamilton SE, Basketball/Football
Credentials: ESPNHS All-State selection for football and basketball; rated the No. 10 basketball player in the country by ESPNU. Committed to Michigan State for hoops.
Gunner Kiel, Senior
Columbus East, Football
Credentials: Won Gatorade State Player of the Year after passing for 2,517 yards and 28 touchdowns. Rated the No. 2 quarterback in the country by ESPNU.
Jason Tsirtsis, Senior
Crown Point, Wrestling
Credentials: Ranked No. 1 nationally in his weight class, with three individual state championships so far; 42-0 last year.
Futsum Zeinasellassie, Senior
North Central, Cross Country/Track
Credentials: Three-time state cross country champion; won Nike Cross Nationals this season.
