Hill does it all

· Rookie Tyreek Hill had a 36-yard touchdown reception and a 78-yard punt return for a touchdown in the Chiefs' 21-13 win over the Raiders on Thursday. Hill has scored nine touchdowns in 13 games in the NFL (six on receptions, one rushing, one on a kickoff, and a punt return). He is the third rookie in NFL history with a receiving TD, rushing TD, kickoff return TD, and punt return TD in a season, joining Bobby Mitchell in 1958 (three on receptions and one each of the other types) and Gale Sayers in 1965 (14 on rushes, six on receptions, one kickoff return, and one punt return). Sayers' 22 touchdowns that season are an NFL rookie record.

Smith starts out strong, improves to 9-1 against the Raiders

· Alex Smith completed 11 of 16 passing attempts while totaling 202 passing yards in the first half of the Chiefs' victory over the Raiders on Thursday night. It's the fifth time that Smith has had at least 200 passing yards in a half since the start of the 2015 season (he's done so one other time this season, in the second half of a Week One matchup with the Chargers). From his NFL debut on September 18, 2005 through the end of the 2014 season, Smith had five such halves (all with the 49ers).

With the win, Smith improved to 9-1 in 10 starts against Oakland in his career. He's the first quarterback to win at least nine of his first 10 starts versus the Raiders; four quarterbacks won eight of their first 10, with each going 8-2 (Jack Kemp, Philip Rivers, Drew Brees, and Peyton Manning).

Another 100-yard receiving game for Kelce

· Travis Kelce made five receptions for 101 yards for the Chiefs on Thursday. Kelce has caught passes for 100 or more yards in each of his last four games. Only two other tight ends in NFL history had four consecutive 100-yard receiving games; Tony Gonzalez had a four-game streak for the Chiefs in 2000 and Jimmy Graham had two four-game streaks for the Saints (2011 and 2013).

Carr averages just 2.9 yard per pass in Oakland's loss

· Derek Carr completed just 17 of 41 passes for 117 yards (2.9 yards per attempt) in the Raiders' loss on Thursday. That's the second-lowest yards per attempt for a quarterback in a game in which he threw at least 40 passes. The Giants' Jesse Palmer owns the lowest mark (43 passes, 110 yards, 2.6 average) in a loss to the Panthers on December 28, 2003.

76ers end long road losing streak

· Ersan Ilyasova led all 76ers with 23 points as Philadelphia ended its 23-game road losing streak, defeating the Pelicans, 99-88, in New Orleans. The 76ers' streak, which started on January 27 earlier this year, is tied for the longest road losing streak by any NBA team over the last six seasons (since 2011-12). Philadelphia also had a 23-game road losing streak from March 29 to December 23 last year. No other team lost 20 in a row on the road over that span.

Entering Thursday night, the 76ers had played 53 straight road games in which they failed to earn a win by at least 10 points (and they won only three of those 53 games). That's the second-longest streak of this type in that franchise's history; they played 63 consecutive road games without a double-digit margin of victory from January 1972 to November 1973.

Warriors are the first team to reach 20 wins

· Stephen Curry scored 26 points as the Warriors defeated the Jazz on Thursday to become the first team to reach 20 wins this season. Golden State was the first team to hit the 20-win mark in each of the two previous seasons as well. Over the last 25 years, only one other team was the first to 20 wins in each of three consecutive seasons; that was the Celtics from the 2007-08 season to the 2009-10 season.

Spurs lose first road game of the season

· Rajon Rondo scored 12 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out nine assists as the Bulls handed the Spurs their first road loss of the season. San Antonio entered Thursday having won each of its first 13 road games of the season, the second-longest streak of this type to begin a season. The Warriors won their first 14 road games last season.

Outrebounded, but not outscored

· Despite being outrebounded by a 45-35 margin (including a game-high 11 rebounds from Nuggets reserve Nikola Jokic), the Wizards prevailed to defeat Denver, 92-85. Washington has won each of its last three games in which its opponent totaled 10 more rebounds. Over the last two seasons, only one other team had such a single-season streak of this length; the Spurs did it twice (three straight wins in March 2016 and a current streak of three in a row).

Douglas is clutch late in the game

· Toney Douglas made two free throws with less than a second remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Grizzlies an 88-86 victory over the Trail Blazers (and that was after he made two free throws with 19 seconds left in the game to put Memphis up by an 86-85 score). Douglas has been a solid free-throw shooter late in close games throughout his NBA career. In the last minute of the fourth quarter, with the score within a margin of three points, Douglas has made 18-of-21 free-throw attempts (85.7%), including 4-for-4 on Thursday.

Raptors are putting up the points

· DeMar DeRozan scored 27 points, Kyle Lowry added 25 points, and Jonas Valanciunas had 20 of his own as the Raptors defeated the Timberwolves, 124-110. It's the fifth time this season that Toronto scored at least 120 points in a game (and none of those games went to overtime), the second-highest total in the Eastern Conference this season (Cavaliers, six such games). The Raptors only had two such games throughout the entire 2015-16 season (122 points on both February 22 at New York and April 12 vs. Philadelphia).

Benn scores 200th goal in the NHL

· Jamie Benn tallied one goal and two assists in the Dallas Stars' 5-2 win against the Predators. Benn's goal, which gave the Stars a 1-0 lead in the first period, was the 200th goal of his NHL career. Benn, who has spent his entire NHL career with Dallas, was the Stars' fifth-round pick in the 2007 Entry Draft (129th overall). The only other player from the 2007 draft class who's scored at least 200 goals in the NHL was the first overall pick that year, Patrick Kane (259 goals). Benn is the 10th player to score 200 or more goals for the Stars franchise, but he's only the fourth player to do so since the Minnesota North Stars moved to Dallas in 1993. The others are Mike Modano (434 goals), Jere Lehtinen (243) and Brenden Morrow (243).

Philadelphia flying high in comeback win

· The Flyers extended their winning streak to seven games with a 6-5 victory over the Oilers in which Philadelphia overcame a pair of two-goal deficits. Edmonton led 2-0 in the middle of the second period but the Flyers took a 3-2 lead by scoring three goals in 72 seconds. The Oilers responded with three unanswered goals of their own and held a 5-3 lead with more than six minutes gone in the third period, but Jakub Voracek, Claude Giroux and Michael Raffl scored for the Flyers to earn the win for Philadelphia. This was the first time in franchise history that the Flyers won a game, regular-season or playoffs, in which they overcame two separate deficits of two goals or more.

Flyers score three quick goals to take the lead

· The Flyers turned a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 lead within a 72-second during the second period of their game against the Oilers on goals by Mark Streit, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and Claude Giroux. They were the three quickest goals scored by the Flyers within one game since Feb. 14, 2009, when Matt Carle, Arron Asham and Simon Gagne all scored over a 67-second stretch in the third period of a game against the Islanders. (Gagne's goal came on a penalty shot.) Two NHL teams have scored three goals in a shorter timeframe this season than the Flyers did on Thursday. The Kings notched three goals in 44 seconds versus the Islanders on November 23, and the Penguins tallied three goals in 55 seconds at Philadelphia on October 29.

Pair of Americans lead the way for Canucks

· Jayson Megna and Jack Skille each scored two goals in the Vancouver Canucks' 5-1 win over the Lightning in Tampa. It was the first multiple-goal game of Megna's NHL career and Skille's fourth (but his first for Vancouver). Megna, who was born in Florida, and Skille, a Wisconsin native, are the second pair of U.S.-born players to each score two goals in the same game for the Canucks, who entered the NHL in 1970. The other pair of American Canucks to do that was Matt Bartkowski and Emerson Etem with two goals apiece in Vancouver's 5-3 win versus Ottawa on February 25 last season.

No assists necessary

· The Avalanche stopped their six-game winless streak with a 4-2 victory against the Bruins in Boston. Colorado jumped out to a 3-0 lead by the 4:09 mark of the second period on goals by Matt Duchene, Nathan MacKinnon and John Mitchell, and all of those goals were unassisted! The three unassisted goals by the Avs tied a franchise record for one game, done three times before but not since the Quebec Nordiques relocated to Colorado in 1995. The most recent instance before Thursday was in a 5-5 tie for the Nordiques against Winnipeg on Nov. 20, 1993. Quebec's solo markers in that game were scored by Alexei Gusarov, Chris Simon and Martin Gelinas.

High-scoring Pens win another one

· Sidney Crosby scored one goal and assisted on another when the Penguins extended their winning streak to four games by beating the Panthers, 5-1. Pittsburgh has won its last four games by scores of 6-2, 5-3, 8-5 and 5-1. The only other time in the last 17 seasons that the Penguins won four consecutive games and scored at least five goals in each game was late last season (March 31-April 5), with victories against Nashville (5-2), the Islanders (5-0), Philadelphia (6-2) and Ottawa (5-3).

Lee nets the game-winner for the Isles

· Anders Lee's second goal of the game broke a 2-2 tie with just over seven minutes left to play in the third period and that goal provided the Islanders with the winning margin in their 3-2 victory against the Blues. Lee scored only one goal in his first 18 games this season but he's produced a team-high seven goals in eight games since then. The only other Islanders who've scored more than one goal over the same stretch (Nov. 23 to date) are John Tavares (3), Jason Chimera (3) and Johnny Boychuk (2).

Mitchell nets two in Habs' win

· Torrey Mitchell produced the third two-goal game of his NHL career and his first two-goal game for the Canadiens in Montreal's 5-2 home-ice victory against the Devils. The Canadiens have a 13-1-1 record at Bell Centre, but Mitchell's two-goal performance on Thursday was only the second multi-goal game by a Habs player in Montreal this season. David Desharnais scored two goals when the Canadiens beat the Penguins, 4-0, at Bell Centre on October 18.

Rangers capitalize with the man-advantage

· Chris Kreider and Kevin Hayes each scored a power play goal for the Rangers in their 2-1 victory at Winnipeg. Excluding games decided by a shootout, this was the first time that the Rangers won a game in which all of their scoring came on the power play since Nov. 16, 2013, when Ryan Callahan's PPG earned them a 1-0 win at Montreal. The last time they did that by scoring at least two power play goals was also a 2-1 victory against the Jets in Winnipeg. It was on Oct. 24, 2011, with PPGs by Ruslan Fedotenko and Callahan.
