MESQUITE, Texas -- Class of 2015 quarterback Kyler Murray (Allen, Texas/Allen) has five offers so far, and his list of interested schools continues to grow.

Murray took in a satellite camp hosted by Sam Houston State and assisted by Arizona State, one of the schools to have offered, on Thursday afternoon. While he chose to watch the camp and not participate, Murray said he was a fan of what he saw from the Arizona State coaches.

"I've been talking to [offensive coordinator] Coach [Mike] Norvell, and he told me they liked me," Murray said. "I like what they're doing over there. I'm definitely interested."

In addition to the ASU offer, Murray has offers from Ohio State, Clemson, Texas Tech and Arkansas, and all five schools are intriguing. He also has interest from Oregon and North Carolina, among others. Oregon's interest is relatively new, but he's been in contact with offensive coordinator Scott Frost.

"I've always liked Oregon. It's a fast-paced offense, and the quarterback throws the ball a lot," Murray said. "I feel what they're doing. If that's what happens, I'll definitely go there."

Murray, a 5-foot-11, 166-pound quarterback who won a state title in December, is the son of Kevin Murray, who played quarterback at Texas A&M in the 1980s. So when Murray added that Texas was showing considerable interest -- and when he admitted that the interest is mutual -- it led to the inevitable question: Really?

"I don't think if you like Texas A&M, you're forbidden to go to Texas," said Murray, who has been in contact with co-offensive coordinator Major Applewhite. "I'd go to Texas. Soso [Jamabo] has an offer from Texas, and we are boys. I'd be interested, definitely.

"My dad, he knows I'm smart and will make a good decision. He's going to let me make the decision. Just because he went to A&M doesn't mean I'm going to A&M. I'm going to go wherever fits best for me."

Murray said he and his father will take some visits this summer to further iron out the process and separate the favorites from the outsiders. Among the out-of-state trips he'd like to take are Ohio State, Clemson, Arizona State and Oregon. Murray added that he'll be in Arkansas for 7-on-7 competition next week and may make a pit stop in Fayetteville to visit the Razorbacks' campus.

Murray said he isn't expecting to make any quick decisions on his college future, but he didn't rule out announcing matter-of-factly.

"Quarterbacks usually make their decisions a little earlier," he said. "I've always wanted to be the guy who picks a hat in front of people, but if I feel good and comfortable enough with coaches about where I want to go to school, I'll probably make that decision whenever that time is."
