No. 6 BC High Throttles No. 9 Leominster

One of the most anticipated match ups of the weekend quickly devolved into a blowout, as BC High handled visiting Leominster 36-0 Friday night.

While the Blue Devils (2-1) did everything in their power to contain breakout star running back Danny Abraham, the BC High (2-0) offense got a spark from quarterback Connor Cady. The senior found classmate TJ Rothmann for a seven-yard touchdown pass on the Eagles' second drive, then ran it in himself from 40 yards out the next time BC High had the ball.

The Eagle defense would dominate the rest of the half, sacking star Leominster quarterback Noah Gray twice, with junior defensive end Elijah Miranda living in the Blue Devil backfield. BC High took a 15-0 lead into intermission and would blow the game wide open out of the dressing room. Junior defensive end Francis Dooley picked up his second sack of the game, forcing a Leominster punt.

After three long carries by Abraham, Cady would keep it on the read-option and sprint for a 37-yard touchdown run. After back-to-back sacks by Will Bowen and Tom Joyce, the Eagles got the ball back, and Abraham broke off a 35-yard run down to the Blue Devil one-yard line. Rothmann would punch it in from there, and BC High cruised the rest of the way.

The Eagles will look to continue their hot start when they travel to Brockton next week, while Leominster will hope to get back on track at home against undefeated Wachusett.
