Neeraj Chopra won his second event in five days, as he finished top at the Golden Spike Meet in Ostrava, Czechia, for his 24th straight top two finish.

After having won the Paris Diamond League, Neeraj hopped over to Ostrava, where a best throw of 85.29m was enough for him to comfortably take gold at the Golden Spike Meet.

South Africa's Douw Smit threw a massive personal best of 84.12m to finish second ahead of Anderson Peters, who threw a best of 83.63m. Peters' best came with his first throw and he regressed with his next five, failing to clear 82m in his last three attempts. This continues his underwhelming form since the Doha Diamond League.

Neeraj, meanwhile, won't be too fussed with the relatively low distance he threw on the night as his winning form continues ahead of what will surely be a very emotional night on July 5 at the inaugural Neeraj Chopra Classic in Bengaluru.

Peters took the lead in Ostrava in round 1, with his 83.63m... Neeraj fouled out on his first attempt. Smit, though, came up with his PB to knock Peters off the top spot in round 2, where Neeraj seemed to hit his stride with a 83.45m

In round 3, Neeraj upped the ante to take first place with a 85.29m and was never really troubled again. Both Peters and Smit failed to clear 82m in their last three attempts.

Neeraj, meanwhile, seemed to struggle for momentum too, throwing 82.17m on his fourth attempt, 81.01m on his fifth and a poor throw below 80m on his last, which he chalked off by walking across the foul line.

In other events at Ostrava, Mondo Duplantis bettered his own pole vault meet record at Ostrava with a jump of 6.13m, and failed to set his 13th world record, just a week after lifting it to 6.28m in Stockholm last week. Australian sprinting sensation Gout Gout made a smashing European debut as a professional, with a personal best 20.02s seeing him kick on at the end for 200m gold.
