North Melbourne's Majak Daw set for long-awaited AFL return

For the first time in almost two years, North Melbourne defender Majak Daw will return to the AFL field when the Kangaroos take on Adelaide on Saturday at Metricon Stadium.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Kangaroos released a video of captain Jack Ziebell informing the squad that Daw would play his first AFL game in 706 days.

The clash against the Crows will be the 29-year-old's first senior match since Round 23, 2018.

The key defender has endured a difficult 18 months.

He suffered serious injuries to his hips and pelvis when he fell from Melbourne's Bolte Bridge in December 2018, before returning to VFL football in July last year.

But as he closed in on senior selection in May, he tore his pectoral muscle in the gym before regaining fitness.
