Renegades QB Landry Jones out at least 2 weeks after reinjuring knee

XFL

The XFL's Dallas Renegades said quarterback Landry Jones will miss at least two weeks after aggravating a left knee injury Sunday against Houston.

According to the team, Jones underwent an MRI on Monday, the results of which showed the aggravation of an injury he first suffered on the opening day of training camp in January.

The veteran QB was hurt on a successful fourth-and-1 sneak in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Roughnecks. He committed four turnovers before he was injured, throwing three interceptions and losing a fumble that was returned for a touchdown.

Philip Nelson replaced Jones and moved Dallas to Houston's 3-yard line but was intercepted after a pass was bobbled and caught by a Houston defender. The Roughnecks went on to run out the clock and improve to 4-0. Dallas fell to 2-2.

Jones, who played for five seasons as a backup with the Pittsburgh Steelers, was the first quarterback to sign with the XFL when he did so in August of last year.

Dallas said it plans to add a quarterback to its roster in the coming days.
