Ohio State star forward Cotie McMahon has entered the transfer portal, the school confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday night. McMahon, a two-time all-Big Ten First Team selection, led the Buckeyes in scoring this season with a career-best 16.5 points per game, while also averaging 4.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals. Her 37.4% clip from 3-point range was also by far a career high for the three-year starter. McMahon, the 2023 Big Ten freshman of the year and honorable mention All-American, will have one year of eligibility remaining and is poised to be one of the most highly sought players in the portal. The No. 4 seed Buckeyes were upset on their home floor by No. 5 Tennessee in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Ohio State fell in that same round as a 2-seed last year, but made the Elite Eight after upsetting UConn when McMahon was a freshman. Aside from McMahon, the Buckeyes are losing two other starters -- Taylor Thierry and Ajae Petty -- who have exhausted their eligibility.
