Vote: What's your take on Patriots trading Jimmy Garoppolo?

NFL, New England Patriots

A day before the NFL's trade deadline, the New England Patriots sent shockwaves across the league, dealing quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo -- the long-assumed successor to 40-year-old Tom Brady -- to the San Francisco 49ers for a second-round pick.

The move has implications across the league, but nowhere more than in New England, where fans who figured Brady's backup would one day take his place are now left wondering, "What now?"

What's your take on the move? Was it just a matter of the Patriots trying to get value for a player who was likely to leave in free agency after the season anyway? Or does it go deeper than that? Weigh in below ...

ESPN.com's Mike Reiss writes that Patriots owner Robert Kraft and coach Bill Belichick have taken a major risk in both the short- and long-term with this move.
